ICSM 2007 Accomodation

The organizers have pre-reserved rooms between September 28 and October 8 in several hotels located in poximity to the conference. Most of them are in the heart of the Montparnasse district, offering easy access both for tourism and to public transportation to 'La Maison Internationale' where the conference will take place. Only hotel Mercure is within walking distance to the Conference Center itself, which is out of the heart of Paris.

Remember that

•  Autumn is a very popular tourist season in Paris; several exhibits as well as the World Rugby Championship will be taking place at the same time. It is preferable to reserve your hotel room no later than June.
•  You may find better offers for the listed hotels through Internet.

To reserve, either:

•  use an Internet hotel reservation site (listed here) and search for a selected hotel or
•  contact the hotel directly via email/phone/fax as indicated in the table below, mentioning that you are member of the ICSM group. You may be asked to make a deposit.

When reservation deadlines are passed, this doesn't mean the hotels are full; don't hesitate to contact them all the same. If no more rooms are available in any of these hotels, check the listed Internet hotel reservation sites (see here).

There are of course a multitude of hotels in Paris, just enter 'hotel reservation Paris' in Google if you wish to find one!

Try to find a hotel near the RER line B, on the left bank of river Seine, to keep your commute to 'La Maison Internationale' reasonable. This includes parts of the 5th , 6th , 13th and 14th arrondissements (districts of Paris, zipcode 75005, 75006, 75013 and 75014) and parts of Montrouge (zipcode 92120). To check how a hotel is situated with respect to La Maison Internationale, you can use the RATP site (see guidelines here). To see how far a hotel is from any public transportation station, use the Via Michelin site in the following way :

1. In the 'Departure' area, enter
   country: France
   address: for example 146 av du Maine (number + street name of the hotel)
   postode: 75014 (corresponding zipcode, none if you don't know it)
   city: Paris
2. In the 'Destination' area, enter
   country: France
   address: for example METRO Vavin or RER Denfert-Rochereau (name of the station)
3. Click 'Options' and then check 'On foot'
